NETGEAR AV Line · M4250 control

One sign-on for
the whole rig.

RE-ENGAGE is a desktop app for running NETGEAR M4250 AV switches in live production. Add your switches once — it signs into every one behind the scenes and gives you the dashboard, VLAN profiles, PoE and topology in one place.

No cloud. No account. Credentials stay encrypted in your OS keychain.

Live demo

Play with a rig.

This is a working mock of a RE-ENGAGE switch tile. Click ports to power them, paint a VLAN color onto them, or run a fake network scan. Nothing here touches real hardware — it just shows how the app feels.

Mode

What a click does to a port.

VLAN colors carry the profile (Dante, NDI, AES67…). In the real app they save to the switch's startup config so they survive a reboot.

Scan network

Sweeps the subnet for AV Line switches — including self-assigned 169.254.x.x.

Topology
Network topology built from LLDP neighbors
Topology map from LLDP — switch-to-switch links, per-port labels, connected devices.
VLANs
VLAN profiles with colors
VLAN profiles in color — push Dante / NDI / AES67 to every switch at once.
Network scan
Network scan finding AV switches
Network scan — finds every AV switch on the subnet, model and all.
Switch detail

Features

Everything the rig needs, nothing it doesn't.

Built for operators — fast to set up, hard to break during a show.

How it works

Three steps to control.

1

Add or scan

Type an IP, or hit Scan network and RE-ENGAGE finds every M4250 on your subnet — even factory-default switches on a self-assigned address.

2

Sign on once

Enter each switch's admin login one time. It's verified, then stored encrypted in macOS Keychain or Windows DPAPI. You're never asked again.

3

Run the show

Watch every switch live, push VLANs and PoE, map the topology from LLDP, and get alerts the moment something drops.

FAQ

Good to know.

Which switches does it work with?

The NETGEAR AV Line — M4250 series (any port count, PoE or not). It talks to the AV UI / JSON API and the FASTPATH CLI over SSH, so it understands AV profiles, VLANs, PoE and multicast the way the switch does.

Will it change my switches?

Only when you tell it to. Pre-provisioned switches can be marked protected so bulk actions skip them. Reads are always safe; writes (VLAN, PoE, DHCP) happen on your command and can auto-save to startup config so they survive reboots.

Does it need SSH?

SSH must be on for VLAN / PoE / DHCP changes. If it isn't, RE-ENGAGE opens the switch's admin page and walks you through enabling it, then finishes automatically.

Where are my passwords stored?

Encrypted by your operating system — macOS Keychain or Windows DPAPI. Nothing is sent anywhere; the app is fully offline.

Mac and Windows?

Both. Native .dmg and .exe installers, built from the same codebase.
